Mick Rory is a criminal, who had worked with Leonard Snart on a
unknown job that went badly, resulting in their partnership ending.
However after Snart became Captain Cold, he visited Mick at his
apartment, where he tells Mick that he needs him if he wants to
continue to operate in Central City along with a new crew. He puts
a case containing a stolen heat gun in front of him, saying that he
wants Mick as he is tolerant to extremes and has certain skills, but
lacks direction, which he offers to give him. He shows Mick the gun
telling him that if he “still loves playing with fire” he will
love the it. Mick picks up the gun: calling Snart his “buddy”,
laughing and agreeing to join Snart's team.
