At that moment Power Ring and Deathstorm brake into Belle Reve and release all the prisoners.

First Appearance: The Flash Episode 9: The Man in the Yellow Suit

Mercury Labs is S.T.A.R Labs' biggest rival in scientific research and discoveries, a second research lab in Central City. After the accident, Mercury became the forefront for scientific discovery led by Dr. Christina McGee

Days before Christmas, in the Superluminal Development section of the Central City facility, a doctor is working on “the future” when two guards (Jimmy and an unnamed guard) wish him a merry Christmas. As they begin to walk away, the alarms are triggered by an unknown intruder. They tells the doctor to run and lock down the entire building. As the doctor locks himself in the lab, the Reverse Flash speeds into the room, killing the guards and stands watching the doctor behind the glass, before speeding off.

Later Barry Allen and Joe West investigate the deaths of the two guards and the brake in. Barry concludes that due to the spatter patterns, the deaths were caused by a high velocity collision. Eddie interrupts, telling them that the witness only saw a “blur.” They go talk to the doctor, who reveals that it “whatever it was” was looking for something and that it looked like a “man in a yellow suit.”

Barry tries to get his files, but Joe warns him not too, telling Barry about the files being stolen and the fact that the Reverse-Flash threatened to kill Iris if Joe didn't leave him alone.

The floor that the crime took place had high security vaults, where they were trying to work with Tachyions (super luminal particles.)

Dr. McGee visits Central City Police Headquarters, where Barry and Harrison Wells try to get her to let them borrow a Tachyion prototype device. She tells them that Mercury Labs is working on hundreds of developing prototypes and that the gap for technology is far from capable of real life application. She thanks them for the concern, but tells them that Mercury Labs is quite capable of protecting “it's own assets.”

McGee returns to C.C.P.D, where she demands that the intervention with the judge and an official warrant was the work of Harrison Wells. In a last effort to get the device, Barry threatens to reveal all the scientific research that Mercury has been doing to Science Magazines, either by phoning the editor or leaving posts on their website. She angrily tells him that they will have the tachyion device “within the hour” and says he is very similar to Harrison Wells.

However after Snart became Captain Cold, he visited Mick at his apartment, where he tells Mick that he needs him if he wants to continue to operate in Central City along with a new crew. He puts a case containing a stolen heat gun in front of him, saying that he wants Mick as he is tolerant to extremes and has certain skills, but lacks direction, which he offers to give him. He shows Mick the gun telling him that if he “still loves playing with fire” he will love the it. Mick picks up the gun: calling Snart his “buddy”, laughing and agreeing to join Snart's team.

Sandblast threatens Owen  in order that he would forget himself, telling him that 'kinda crap can follow you around...' but Owen just pushes him into a large ditch, where he becomes scared as he hears Captain Boomerang's voice. He jumps from the shadow, tearing out Sandblast's heart and killing him.

Rainbow Raiders (Untold Tales of Blackest Night (2010)

Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo
Violet

Untold Tales of Blackest Night (2010) #1: The Rainbow Raiders gather in the penthouse they use as their base of operations in Keystone City. They gather with glasses filled with kool-aid. Yellow says that they never did have the power to defeat the Flash (and his other counterparts) and that even without them, he would not have been able to himself.  Red reveals that he was surprised that they managed to steal 'one of the most disrespected Rogues in the business' and says that they are lucky that they had not been arrested and sent to Iron Heights. However he goes onto say that they may have eventually ended up in the prison and tells the others that their time was up. They all toast their glasses to 'the winning side' (the dead) and commit mass suicide, drinking the kool-aid that had been laced with cyanide.

As they have no emotional connection to anyone, the rings don't reanimate then, so are left dead on the penthouse floor.

Tar Pit (Blackest Night: The Flash (2010)

First Appearance: The Flash (1987) #174

Tar Pit, aka Joey Montelone, is a criminal who operates in Keystone City and is brother to the Keystone drug lord, Jack Montelone (The Candyman.) After he escaped from a vat of tar, he discovered he was unable to escape this form. He became a member of the Rogues.

Blackest Night: The Flash (2010) #1:

He accompanies Owen Mercer, the second Captain Boomerang to visit the graveyard of the Rogues, Avernus in Central City. The former Rogues have already been reanimated by Nekron at this point. He watches as Owen kneels down beside the empty grave of his father, correcting him when he says that 'Every good Boomerang comes back,' by saying that that fact may be true but not from the dead. He also notices that other members of the Rogues have risen. Owen asks if he is backing out on him, but Tar Pit claims that he never said 'yes' to this. Owen asks if Tar Pit has a heart, which he replies that he lost it since the day he 'astrally-projected myself into this pile of burning asphalt and got stuck.' When he questions why this fact is so important, Owen reveals to him that as he has no heart, the Black Lanterns won't bother to kill him and needs his help in order to find his father. Tar Pit remarks that he doesn't think the Black Lantern Captain Boomerang will say anything good, but is interrupted by a lone Black Power Ring that buries itself deep into the ground, beneath the Reverse-Flash's memorial statue and reanimates him. Owen asks how fast he can run, but Tar Pit reveals he can't. Owen says that's too bad and super-speeds off, leaving Tar Pit alone in Avernus with the Black Lantern Reverse-Flash. However he is unable to sense Tar Pit with the lack of his heart, leaving him safe and unharmed.

The Flash: Episode 9: The Man in the Yellow Suit Review

This episode is what it has all been leading up to, the confrontation and reveal of the 'Man in the Yellow Suit.' Although we don't know what he calls himself, he says that he is the 'Reverse.' So I think it's up to Cisco to give him the name the Reverse Flash as he can't just be called the Man in the Yellow Suit for the rest of the series. We also have few questions answered and even more cliffhangers looming.

For example; Yes, Ronnie Raymond has survived, but what has happened to him to become 'Firestorm'? Whether he can transmute matter like in the comics in Flash has not yet been revealed or the effect it will have on Caitlin Snow knowing that her fiancée is alive and a meta-human, who can set his skin on fire.

As for the big moment: you may already have seen images if not the episode that shows that Harrison Wells owns a Speed Ring and has a copy of the Reverse-Flash suit in his secret lair. So does this mean he is the Reverse-Flash? It has been set up for him to look like the Reverse-Flash, so whether this is some massive rues or is actually the case that he is the speedster we don't know.

And finally the possibility that there was another speedster in the house that transported Barry to safety as a child is a great concept and cliffhanger to leave on, especially as Wells claimed there were no records of meta-humans before the S.T.A.R Labs Accelerator incident.

I love how Eddie is getting more action, instead of just being the boyfriend to Iris. As for the love story between Barry and Iris, I know it will probably happen, but I secretly hope is doesn't. Nothing personal against ….., but I don't like the character of Iris. Personally I hope she does the same arc that Thea and Laurel had in Arrow and grows as a character rather than just being the love interest. That is what I love about Felicity and Cailtin, they are strong characters in their own right.

But the best part of the episode is the fights between Firestorm, Barry and the Reverse-Flash. I am loving the special effects that The Flash is using, quite similar to what Smallville did when they used Bart Allen or Clark Kent's super-speed. The Reverse-Flash is really cool, the way he kills the security guards in Mercury Labs and then how he breaks out of a seemingly impossible force-field. Whether that was an actual power failure, or an example of a negative speed force in play, I don't know but either way it was awesome. If they do have Harrison Wells be the Reverse-Flash, then the attack he does on Wells would be so fantastic, a version of himself beating the other version close to death.

There are a few theories I have contemplated, which all could carry some weight judging by what has happened with both his character and the meta-humans. The first is time-travel, which has been confirmed as occurring in future episodes, with Harrison Wells potentially being a character from the future (possibly even a future Reverse-Flash). The second is the possibility that Harrison Wells cloned himself using the same DNA replication process that Caitlin used to create a copy of Multiplex.

So overall I would seriously recommend this episode. The cliffhanger it leaves and the potential for character arcs and stories is just amazing. As for the football stadium fight and the idea that two sets of speesters were fighting in the football stadium at the fact same is just mind blowing and all this happening at Christmas, an eventful Christmas episode that has the right amount of action as well as character interaction (which is nice to see.)

Some Easter Eggs:

Mercury Labs: The name of one of the Flash family member Max Mercury, who was at a time, Impulse's (Bart Allen) guardian. He dies at the hand of the Rival (a version of the Reverse- Flash) Whether or not he will be appearing in the show has not yet been confirmed.

The Flash Ring: As mentioned before, Wells has a Flash Ring that in the comics is used by both Flash and the Reverse-Flash to contain a speed-force energy suit.

The Rival: Harrison Wells says that Mecury Labs is S.T.A.R Labs' rival. This is reference to Max Mercury dying at the hands of The Rival, a dark speedster who is one of the many Reverse-Flashes.

Cobalt Blue:  The wrapping paper on Barry's present to Harrison Wells is rather blue in colour, which could be a connection to Cobalt Blue, the twin brother of Barry Allen, who was raised by the Thawne family.

Firestorm: Ronnie Raymond actually calls himself 'Firestorm' which he uses as his hero identity in the comic books, along with a few other people who also go by the name.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Ballet Review

Last night cinemas all across the world linked up with the Royal Ballet to broadcast a live showing to one of the best Ballet's I have seen in a long time, Chrisopher Wheeldon's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Based on the classic works of Lewis Carroll, this highly magical piece was fantastic. The quirky, clockwork, mechanical score was spellbinding, produced by Joby Talbot, the brains behind the League of Gentlemen theme, Psychoville and the score track
for the brilliant Son of Rambow. As for Wheeldon's choreography... well lets just say they capture the wonderful excitement and mind churning scale of Wonderland's madness.

The story has three settings to it, which are set out quite nicely in the show. The main scenes are: the Oxford Garden Party where Alice meets Lewis, the Hallway of Doors, the home of the Duchess, the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, the Red Queen's garden and finally the Red Queen's court, all which are superbly styled and keep the book's magic alive. My favourite set design would have to be Queen's garden, with the attention to detail to give it both a pretty, yet dangerous feel to each little dance section.

As for the story, the changes they made (slight changes for fans of the original story) are actually really good and I think for a ballet they work, whether in a film it would have the same effect I am not as sure. But the premise is that Alice is a teenage girl who was fallen in love with the garden boy, Jack. In return for a rose of him, Alice gives him a jam tart, however is accused of stealing it by Alice's mother and is sent away. Lewis Carroll, the photographer leads her down a rabbit hole (the White Rabbit) where her curiosity leads her to different scenarios, reuniting her with the knavish Jack of Hearts, pursued by the Queen of Hearts for stealing her jam tarts. As for the rest... well lets just say if you have read the book you'll know what happens. Or do you? That is one spoiler I am not going to reveal.

The performances by all were just stunning, with no weak links in a powerfully moving yet same time comical story. My favourite dancers were probably Jack (Federico Bonelli) or the Red Queen (Tamara Rojo), who stole every scene she was in. Her costume as well was just... breathtaking. The wooden red dress that actually held both her and the King was inspired and I loved it so much. As for the other costumes, they were frankly mesmerising. The playing card tutus, the Mad Hatter's hat and the wooden dress, they were fanominal.

As for the Cheshire Cat, which was compiled of dancers moving around the stage with dismembered part of cat was just fabulous, showing both his powers of evaporation and his feline movements.

Overall, everything was just beautiful: from the Red Queen's dance with her suitors, to the Mad Hatter's tea party, the show with it's score, special effects and dancers won't disappoint... you are in for a treat.
